Summary

What does it mean to be a man in the modern world? Throughout history, being a man has meant different things。 Maybe being a man was about being a good hunter, or a good soldier, a good businessman or maybe good with women。 Hard Times Creates Strong Men examines what it means to be a man in the modern world relative to money, sex, religion and politics。 This book examines what worked and what doesn't work based on proven history instead of feelings。 This book is raw, real and politically incorrect, it will threaten and challenge your ideas of what does it mean to be a man and how to better serve your purpose。

As the cycles of history prove over and over again:

Hard Times Create Strong Men
Strong Men Create Good Times
Good Times Create Weak Men
Weak Men Create Hard times

The only much needed book for the men of today。 What we have in front of us is a spiritual war。 Let's fight it by first fighting our addictions。 Be it whatever but remember THERE'S NO CHEMICAL SOLUTION TO A SPIRITUAL PROBLEM。 Respect the Grind Keep doing the hard work even when you don't feel like it。 The only much needed book for the men of today。 What we have in front of us is a spiritual war。 Let's fight it by first fighting our addictions。 Be it whatever but remember THERE'S NO CHEMICAL SOLUTION TO A SPIRITUAL PROBLEM。 Respect the Grind Keep doing the hard work even when you don't feel like it。 。。。more

This book is summarized in the title or more precisely - take responsibility and do things that are right not easy and your life will turn out well。 He spent so much time telling us "what he was going to tell us" and how "people aren't going to like what I say" - he said the same thing a dozen different ways。 It's not really worth the read - just skim it quick and call it a day。 This book is summarized in the title or more precisely - take responsibility and do things that are right not easy and your life will turn out well。 He spent so much time telling us "what he was going to tell us" and how "people aren't going to like what I say" - he said the same thing a dozen different ways。 It's not really worth the read - just skim it quick and call it a day。 。。。more

Vulgar, worldly view of what a man should be and how he should act。 It seems to me, there are some good points… however I don’t think they offset the foolishness。 If you think you are the next best thing since sliced bread, this book is for you。 Many other books and authors I would recommend for character development before going to this book / author。 Failing Forward, Life is a Special Operation, Joko Willink, Wild at Heart, Devil at my Heels, The Bet - Anton Chekhov, Diary of an Early American Vulgar, worldly view of what a man should be and how he should act。 It seems to me, there are some good points… however I don’t think they offset the foolishness。 If you think you are the next best thing since sliced bread, this book is for you。 Many other books and authors I would recommend for character development before going to this book / author。 Failing Forward, Life is a Special Operation, Joko Willink, Wild at Heart, Devil at my Heels, The Bet - Anton Chekhov, Diary of an Early American Boy, Brett McKay, etc。 。。。more

Great overall message but too much ranting and filler for 5 stars。

This should be given to all males in high school。 It’s a little long and redundant, and some liberties have been taken with history, but teen boys need this information。

This is a great book and an eye-opener for everyone; I agree with the writer that the man is becoming weaker; I enjoyed the stories in the book; You can skip some pages from the last chapters as they become redundant; It shows the harsh reality of today's world but don't become violent and aggressive after reading this book。 You just focus on your goals。 This is a great book and an eye-opener for everyone; I agree with the writer that the man is becoming weaker; I enjoyed the stories in the book; You can skip some pages from the last chapters as they become redundant; It shows the harsh reality of today's world but don't become violent and aggressive after reading this book。 You just focus on your goals。 。。。more

Muitas passagens repetitivas e utilização de alguns exemplos como base para generalizar aquilo que não é necessariamente verdade pelo simples facto de terem alguns exemplos。

I really enjoyed this book。 If you are interested in writings on masculinity and what it means to be a man then this one is a must。 This book is what young men feeling lost in today's society need。 I really enjoyed this book。 If you are interested in writings on masculinity and what it means to be a man then this one is a must。 This book is what young men feeling lost in today's society need。 。。。more

Hard time creates Strong men, Strong men creates Good time, Good time creates Weak men, and Weak men creates Hard time。 Great book for list the problem of current generation。 It also lists out how to become a "strong" man that takes responsibilities on career, gender, and life。 However, the author seems to have bias view on politics and overthinking on his imaginary "future" from hard time / week generation。 Hard time creates Strong men, Strong men creates Good time, Good time creates Weak men, and Weak men creates Hard time。 Great book for list the problem of current generation。 It also lists out how to become a "strong" man that takes responsibilities on career, gender, and life。 However, the author seems to have bias view on politics and overthinking on his imaginary "future" from hard time / week generation。 。。。more

This is like Jocko Wilinks on speed。 Avoid。 Parrots the same thing every chapter and likes to hate on zoomers so that the author can feel better。

Mst Can

one star less due to the second half of the book which felt like the author was seeking for a position from the Trump administration。

The best book on manliness I've read。 He describes the inherent qualities of men and gives advice how we, as men should live according to our nature。 It covers issues like: sex, politics, family, work, spirituality。 However, I find him radical on some ideas。 There is great value in this book, but take it with a grain of salt。 The author is a Christian and his life philosophy is pretty much influenced by this。 Although I wanted to throw away the book after the first pages, I am grateful I've read The best book on manliness I've read。 He describes the inherent qualities of men and gives advice how we, as men should live according to our nature。 It covers issues like: sex, politics, family, work, spirituality。 However, I find him radical on some ideas。 There is great value in this book, but take it with a grain of salt。 The author is a Christian and his life philosophy is pretty much influenced by this。 Although I wanted to throw away the book after the first pages, I am grateful I've read it though。 。。。more

Hard times create strong men was the first book I picked up and couldn’t put down in a long time。 The analysis and pure honesty that is expressed by Stefan Aarnio through the book is a welcomed breath of fresh air in 2021。 We seem to be living in a world where individuals and institutions are less worried about the truth and more concerned about public perception。 Aarnio touches on themes such as the role of men, importance of religion in thriving societies and the pursuit of a mans true purpose Hard times create strong men was the first book I picked up and couldn’t put down in a long time。 The analysis and pure honesty that is expressed by Stefan Aarnio through the book is a welcomed breath of fresh air in 2021。 We seem to be living in a world where individuals and institutions are less worried about the truth and more concerned about public perception。 Aarnio touches on themes such as the role of men, importance of religion in thriving societies and the pursuit of a mans true purpose。 The book is well researched and has many scientific studies to back up his countless claims。 I will definitely be picking up this book once a year to refresh the ideas and themes that it discusses as they appear to become more and more prevalent as we progress into this decade。 A simple man that was trying to find truth in a world built on lies, I commend you on writing this book。 May your soul Rest In Peace in the Abha Kingdom。 。。。more

This book is the punch in the gut all men today need。This was a long, but easy read that I really enjoyed。 The author gives his unfiltered opinion on how men are weak in today's society。 He uses historical references and logic to back up his claims。 The writing of the book was rushed (written in only 11 days) and though there are inaccuracies, it still makes great points and serves it purpose describing how men should live their life and how societies work。If you are interested in the "manliness This book is the punch in the gut all men today need。This was a long, but easy read that I really enjoyed。 The author gives his unfiltered opinion on how men are weak in today's society。 He uses historical references and logic to back up his claims。 The writing of the book was rushed (written in only 11 days) and though there are inaccuracies, it still makes great points and serves it purpose describing how men should live their life and how societies work。If you are interested in the "manliness" genre, I would add this to your list。 。。。more

The weakest dogs bark the loudest。I feel like this book is only communicating the frustrations of the author and disappointment with his father。 Also, we are not monkeys or bulls, so i think it is inapropriate to state that behaving like an animal is really manly or alpha。。。 The whole book is overly dramatic。 Quite a disappointment in my opinion。

Fantastic book! I enjoyed very much to read it。 Some may find this book controversial but a lot of the ideas there can be very insightful and I recommend on reading this book!

The book is divided into very useful information and in politics propaganda regarding one country。 Lots of information that is repeting and saying the same thing but wrapped differently

I have mixed feelings about this book。 On one hand there is merit in some of the chapters of this book, there is some good insight in learning to work hard in a decaying world and preservation of healthy masculinity 。 However Aarinos concept in the realm of protective nature, tribalism, misogyny, and blantant racism is kind of disturbing and questioning。 A lot of the politics and view on ethics are studies by stefan molyneux who is living white supremist and favored amongst incels and neo nazis。 I have mixed feelings about this book。 On one hand there is merit in some of the chapters of this book, there is some good insight in learning to work hard in a decaying world and preservation of healthy masculinity 。 However Aarinos concept in the realm of protective nature, tribalism, misogyny, and blantant racism is kind of disturbing and questioning。 A lot of the politics and view on ethics are studies by stefan molyneux who is living white supremist and favored amongst incels and neo nazis。 I really hate the fact that aarino polluted stoicism in this book which any ancient philosopher would not would advise against some of these things。I think the author did have some insights on helping men where it is confusing to find one's identity in this modern age, I just disagree with alot of dogmatic thinking of men in this book 。。。more

There is knowledge in here, especially for those who do not read a lot but, for me, it was nothing special。 His writing style is very basic。 He also has inserted way too many quotes and excertps for other's books and it makes the book way longer than he needed it to be。 Would be a much better book, in my opinion, if he shortened it by 200 pages or so and didn't repeat himself so much。 There is knowledge in here, especially for those who do not read a lot but, for me, it was nothing special。 His writing style is very basic。 He also has inserted way too many quotes and excertps for other's books and it makes the book way longer than he needed it to be。 Would be a much better book, in my opinion, if he shortened it by 200 pages or so and didn't repeat himself so much。 。。。more

I’ve read a lot of man-o-sphere books。 This is just angrier, harsher, and poorly written。 Go read Jack Donovan or Dieda instead。 The author practically quotes 50% of those books anyway。 (And a lot of Ayn Rand too)。

The prosperity of a society is cyclical, as reflected in a poem by G。 Michael Hopf from where the book gets its title: “Hard Times create strong men, Strong men create good times, Good times create weak men, Weak men create hard times。” There are a couple good chapters about the emptiness of hookup culture, the castrating effect of pornography, and the societal problems caused by absent (or weak) fathers。 The rest of the book is pretty redundant with the basic message being that the current gene The prosperity of a society is cyclical, as reflected in a poem by G。 Michael Hopf from where the book gets its title: “Hard Times create strong men, Strong men create good times, Good times create weak men, Weak men create hard times。” There are a couple good chapters about the emptiness of hookup culture, the castrating effect of pornography, and the societal problems caused by absent (or weak) fathers。 The rest of the book is pretty redundant with the basic message being that the current generation of men need to sack up, interspliced with Ayn Rand and Gene Simmons quotes as well as Stoicism and Fight Club references。 。。。more

The book states a warning on its cover。 "Do not read this book if you are easily offended! Burn this book instead!" and that's for a reason。 It contains many though-provoking, yet hard to process ideas, that will probably seem outrageous to many。Aarnio wrote this book in just about 20 days after fasting for weeks in the jungle, and to be honest, it shows, since the book seems to lack structure and be all over the place at times。 One motive lingers throughout the book though, the idea that “Hard The book states a warning on its cover。 "Do not read this book if you are easily offended! This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 4 stars because this book, at least the first half, is probably worth 5 stars。 Outlining the duty and responsibilities of a man or masculine identifying persona was great。 His thoughts and views on masculine/feminine relationship dynamic, also enlightening。 The second half Not so much。 It just seemed like a long rant。 Rants can be found to be informative and stimulating but this needed a lot more refining。 The arguments just don't work。 If we need strong men as stated, we would also rely on weak 4 stars because this book, at least the first half, is probably worth 5 stars。 Outlining the duty and responsibilities of a man or masculine identifying persona was great。 His thoughts and views on masculine/feminine relationship dynamic, also enlightening。 The second half Not so much。 It just seemed like a long rant。 Rants can be found to be informative and stimulating but this needed a lot more refining。 The arguments just don't work。 If we need strong men as stated, we would also rely on weak men because the cycle has to continue。 To continue with this cycle would be to learn nothing from it which is where it all falls apart。 Like reopening society from covid, we repeat mistakes, learn from them, adjust and get better。 Stefan Aarnio will be greatly missed and I think the business world has lost an extremely talented and inspiring individual。 。。。more
